Irvalec^® is a new synthetic depsipeptide resulting from PharmaMar's internal research programme to obtain derivatives of natural compounds of marine origin.
 
The preliminary studies carried out in vitro have identified Irvalec^® as a new antiproliferative drug which is active against a wide range of tumour types: breast, colon, pancreas, lung and prostate, among others. 

 

In 2008 PharmaMar initiated Phase II study with Irvalec^®. The first Phase II study will test the compound in patientes with non-microcitic lung cancer.
