We are committed to environmental protection, conservation and sustainability in all our operations.
We have been granted recognition by being authorised to use the occupational health and safety symbol awarded to companies by the Spanish Association of Mutual Insurance Companies for Accidents at Work (AMAT), after verification that they meet certain requirements as regards insurance claims, and that they have one of the lowest accident rates for companies in this sector.
Integrated Environmental Authorisation
PharmaMar has obtained an Integrated Environmental Authorisation from the Madrid Regional Government to operate as a facility for "Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturing".
This authorisation ensures that:
- PharmaMar's facilities meet all the legal requirements as regards the environment.
- The measures implemented by PharmaMar to protect the environment and minimise pollution are appropriate and effectively reduce our environmental impact.
- The Environmental Management System makes it possible to guarantee fulfilment of the measures indicated in the official decision.
Animal Experimentation
Regulators worldwide require that we study potential therapies first in animal models, in order to evaluate their possible side effects before using these on patients.
- We conduct our research ethically, working proactively on improving alternative methods to reduce the use of animals in experimentation.
Water and energy consumption control
At PharmaMar we are concerned with water and energy consumption control. Challenging consumption reduction goals are set up every year within the company’s objectives in order to improve our efficiency in the consumption of these valuable resources. This has led us to achieve a reduction in electricity consumption by 20%, natural gas by 20% and water by 60% over the past four years.
